Painting Sunflowers and Wellies

Welcome.  I am so happy that you stopped by. My garden gate is always open for you to come in and sit and relax in the cool morning breeze with a cup of tea while I share with you the inspirations for my art.

I am linking my Sunflowers post to http://www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com/
to celebrate Belvery's very special birthday as her favorite color is yellow.

Let's join my studio assistant, Bentley, in the garden to look for something to paint using the Sunflowers I just bought at the market.

"Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows - it's what Sunflowers do."
Helen Keller

Since I recently painted Sunflowers in the old  red watering can I have been thinking about painting them in my old green Wellies.

I can't bear to get rid of my old worn out garden boots and love using them  in the garden for decoration as well as displaying flowers.  Let's see what they look like as a little garden painting!!!
Looks like Bentley thinks they would also be fun to paint!!!!!

Dear Readers, Thank you for stopping by.  I love hearing from you and sincerely appreciate your e-mails, comments and those who follow my blog.  Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to see me paint something special.  Thank you for your nice comments and support of my new policy of selling  my small original art in my new ETSY shop.
I will be picking  blue Hydrangeas next week and sharing several small paintings of blue Hydrangeas as well as another pink Hydrangea painting that will be for sale in my ETSY shop.

I LOVE Sunflowers. I plant them every year in my garden just for their beauty and for the birds. Love your painting of them with the boots. It's charming.

OOOOOH! Lovely! I could hardly wait to see your painting and was afraid it wouldn't be there... got to see two ... both lovely. I adore the boots and sunflowers.

Isn't the quote from Helen Keller amazing! Wow.

And, Bentley, now which blogger has a dog named Bentley. She's thinking about changing her blog up a bit . . . I KNOW who she is but I'm out of place right now. Link #6 Ash Tree Cottage. Picked it correctly right away! Both Bentleys are cuties.

I think I'll scroll a little more on your blog before I have to go.

Happy Pink Saturday! Enjoying my visit.

PS I'm not sure where I thought I was seeing 2 paintings. I think I was in such a hurry to see everything that I thought the sunflowers (next to Bentley) was one painting and the boots/sunflowers were a second one.

Either way - I've scrolled a bit and just love your art.

Beautiful header photo of your work too!

Thanks, Jenn

Dear Erin - I always love pics of Bentley - he is so photogenic! He looks handsome with sunflowers.

Oh yes, hang on to those wellies - they are so 'in' and always look adorable around the garden even when worn out! I have to tell you how I detested them as a girl - we were made to wear them so often as it rained so much in England - now of course I'd give my right arm for a pair of Hunters in every color imaginable. After all, what's good for Her Majesty is fine with me, ha! ha!

I am a little late to this sunflower party but my goodness your post is a treat! That yellow wooden birdhouse with the sunflowers makes a beautiful composition. I too use my children's used boots as vases and flower pots. I cannot bear to part with them either.

I really love your style!

Wishing you a beautiful week.
