Painting Roses and More Polka Dots

Welcome.  I am so happy that you stopped by.  My garden gate is always open for you to come in and sit and relax with a cup of tea while I share with you the inspirations for my art.  Last week I shared with you the inspiration for a painting based on a red polka dot vase with Sunflowers.  One of my friends saw my blog post where I talked about how happy my red and white polka dot tea set made me feel while I was home recovering from surgery .  She found a pair of vintage red garden  boots at the Flea Market - they were for a child. She painted white polka dots on them - filled them with white Ice Berg roses and added a little American flag  . . . . and left them in my garden for me to find.

Bentley, My Studio Assistant, discovered the charming arrangement  of roses in the polka dot boots by barking at them.   Imagine my surprise when I went into the garden to see what he was barking at to find the charming polka boots and how happy they  made me!!!

LOL - another painting waiting for me to paint!

Thank you for stopping by.  I sincerely appreciate your visits, e-mails, comments and those of you who follow my blog.  Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to see me paint something special.  I am so looking forward to Fall planting in my garden and sharing a new season with you.

Have a lovely week. Blessings,  Erin

Painting Polka Dots and Sunflowers

Welcome.  I am so happy that you stopped by. You are invited to have tea in my living room with me while I share with you the inspirations for a new little painting. I am in week 3 recovering from surgery and not yet in the garden, however,  I have been finding lots of inspiration inside my cottage.

Bentley, my Studio Assistant, will not leave my side while I am recovering and is acting more like the Studio Nurse!!  He has a wonderful dog walker and is getting his daily walks when he is not following me around the house.

I have been spending lots of time sipping tea, resting on the sofa and reading after the Home Care Physical therapist works with me on my daily therapy.

I love my red and white polka dot tea set and usually save it for the Christmas holidays but decided to use it now since it is so whimsical and cheerful.  LOL - there right in front of me is a painting waiting to be painted.  The vase of Sunflowers is  calling to me!!

Thank you for stopping by.  I love hearing from you and sincerely appreciate your visits, e-mails, comments and those of you who follow my blog. Please let me know if you have any questions or want to see me paint something special.  With Fall just around the corner - we will soon paint another Fall sign together.  You can check out Art 101 on the header of my blog to find simple tutorials for painting seasonal garden signs.

Let's Go To the Vintage Flea Market

Welcome. I am so happy that you stopped by. My garden gate is always open for you to come in and sit and relax and have a nice cold drink of mint ice tea.  I am re-posting another popular post on the Vintage Flea Market in Old Town Orange, CA.  as I have been so busy with post operative physical therapy I have not had time to write  new post.  I am doing well and starting to paint and hope to have time for a new post next week.
Bentley is already in the garden waiting to show you the new garden sign I bought at the Flea Market.

I hung it over the red bucket fountain I put out for all God's creatures - great and small - to drink from.

The birds and possum love it - looks like a certain Studio Assistant also likes to drink from it.

The bucket fountain came from Debra's Cottage and I had it custom painted red to go with the red accents in my garden. Debra's is a fabulous cottage style shop with over 100 vendors. Her store sells all things wonderful and cottage from furniture, custom made pillows, garden things, china, tea and specialty food items and too many wonderful things to mention. She has a a great website - http://www.debrascottage.com/ - I will blog about her shop in a few weeks.

Enough of my rambling - let's go to Old Town Orange to the Flea Market.

Vintage "girlly " things.

One of my favorite shops is The Victoria Company. I bought my garden sign there. I love shopping there to find red accents for my home and garden.

An old ladder makes a great place to display fun things. It would be wonderful in the garden with potted plants. Hmm - maybe next time I will look for a ladder for my garden.

Before we leave Old Town - let's drive by some of the wonderful old cottages.

This is my very favorite cottage - the pink door really speaks to me. Do you have a favorite cottage?

Another view of the little cottage with pink door. It is for sale and comes with an "art studio" in the back yard.

This lovely stone craftsman home has a beautiful garden.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I sincerely appreciate you visits, comments and those who follow my blog. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to see my paint something special.

Have a lovely week. Blessings, Erin
