Painting Fuchsias

Welcome.  I am so happy that you stopped by.  My studio is always open fore you to come in and sit and relax with a cup of tea while I share with you the inspirations for my art. I am teaching two Fuchsia painting classes at the beautiful Sherman Library and Gardens in Newport Beach, Ca and have been taking photos of many varieties of the Fuchsia plants to paint. The classes are part of their 5th Annual Fuchsia Celebration and are  for all levels. I keep the paintings very basic, whimsical and easy so everyone will have fun painting.  The setting where we paint is lovely - under the ancient peeper tree in the beautiful gardens - information about my art classes and all of the amazing classes taught at the gardens can be found at www.slgardens.org under classes and events.

Bentley, my Studio Assistant, is out playing in  the garden looking for the squirrel who comes over every morning to play.

There are so many different varieties and each bloom is different. I decided to use the one above with the purple and fuchsia bloom and use a variety of colors on the little "blossom tags" we will paint.

Thank you for stopping by.  I sincerely appreciate your visits, e-mails, comments and those following my blog.

Have a lovely week.  Blessings,  Erin

Eastside Art Paint Palooza

Welcome.  I am so happy that you stopped by.  You are invited into my art studio today where I will share with you some of the fun and whimsical  art created by our Eastside Art Group.  We meet once a month and take turns teaching an art project and April was my turn to teach.  I thought it would be fun to celebrate Linda's mile-stone birthday with a "paint palooza" and paint fun and whimsical art on various materials.  We painted on canvas shoulder bags to use to store art supplies, cork trivets and coasters, paper, and tea bags.

We started the morning with a brunch and lots of birthday  toasts with mimosas . Linda is the visionary who started  our art group and gathered together an amazing, talented and diverse group of artists - featuring painters, photographers, digital artists,  mosaic and graphic artists, jewelry design ,metal smiting,  gourd art and jewelry, clay and ceramics, art dolls, fabric, fiber and rope art.

Photos of our amazing group courtesy of Jacki Long - you can see more photos on her blog www.jackilong.blogspot.com

Let's join Bentley, my Studio Assistant, to show you some of the fun and colorful art creations.

The artists got to choose from a variety of paints, materials, stamps and stencils to use to create whimsical art.

All of the artists have their own styles - most of my creations have flowers.  I painted the pink bicycle on a cork trivet and the garden girl wearing red boots on a cork trivet.

Libby painted a colorful feather and adorable tiny art on tea bags.

Tea bag art.

Marilyn painted a colorful abstract designs.
Linda painted an Eastside art bag to use to store her art supplies in, a whimsical bird inspired by her birthday card, and a colorful face.

A rose petal from my rose bush landed on her bird's head when she put her bag outside to dry which was magical as it was her birthday and several of the artists brought her roses for her birthday.

Jacki is an amazing collage artist and teacher and created a whimsical collage for Linda's birthday - Linda is a jewelry designer and metal artist and the name of her business is Ms Gotrocks!  She also created on paper and colorful art bags.

Jody painted the Eiffel tower and a pretty rose on cork that I did not get a photo of.

Diane painted a piece of coral on her art bag.
Norma loves Native American art and her creations reflect her love.
Her pot was painted on a cork trivet.

My camera battery  gave out as I was taking photos of Sherrill's charming pink bicycle painted on cork and her art bag with turquoise ball jar and paint brushes - sorry Sherrill. - I did get  a photo of her creating her pink bicycle - she is smiling  artist in the yellow apron!

Thank you for stopping by.  I sincerely appreciated you visits, e-mails, comments and those following my blog.

Have a lovely week.  Blessings,  Erin

More Pansies - Here - There - Everywhere

Welcome.  I am so happy that you stopped by.  My garden gate is always open for you to come in and sit and relax for a few minutes while I share with you the inspirations for my art.  Our Pansies are loving the recent rains.

Bentley, my Studio Assistant, is waiting in the garden to show you some of our new Pansies that are blooming

Back in my studio - I picked a few Pansy blossoms and arranged them in a circle to practice painting them on a little canvas shoulder bag that I am teaching to my Eastside Art Group next week.  I stenciled words on the canvas bag to give it a little extra touch of Spring.
