I received so many lovely e-mails form you asking about the Beach Cottage painting with climbing red roses. The most popular question was "can you show us where you hung the painting in your home?" I hung it in my dining room. Bentley, my Studio Assistant, is waiting to show you.
I hung the painting in my dining room to compliment the blue and white theme. I decided to paint another painting to hang by the front door that would also compliment the blue and white.
The complimentary painting.
Come along with me to the flower market and I will share with you the inspirations for the new companion painting.

I bought red roses and sunflowers. The Foxgloves are from my garden.
I decided to use the little bird in the painting.
I decided to use the little bird in the painting.
Artists get to change their minds - the beautiful blue sky with puffy clouds and the vase of Sunflowers inspired me to change my mind and paint the ocean as a back ground - paint out the little iron bird and paint sea shells instead. I thought this would go better with the Beach Cottage painting.

Hi Erin
I loved seeing photos of the inside of your home. It is beautiful. I could move in and feel quite at home there! The paintings are great as always. You ae very lucky to have such a wonderful flower market nearby. Send some of that cold air over here to NC. We are sweltering.

Erin, I just love your paintings and your sweet cottage too. I envy your dutch door. When I was a little girl my Daddy built an addition to our house complete with a dutch door and I loved it so. I always love to come and visit you because you are an inspiration to me!! Hugs for your Bentley.
Love,
Susan and Bentley

Erin, I just found your blog. I live in Anaheim, and I have two Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers! Bentley is so cute, and I am sure he is a great assistant. I haunt many of the same places you do--Roger's Gardens, Britta's, and The Vintage Lady. Your paintings are so pretty and happy, and your home is lovely. I am having serious Dutch Door envy right now! Will you be making any personal appearances in Orange County any time soon?
