Looks like Bentley, my helpful studio assistant, has stopped to smell the roses.
The red roses inspired me to start thinking about Spring, Spring cleaning and re purposing one of my bedrooms. I love using "what I do have and not what I do not have" and decided to create a painting that would harmonize with my favorite Ralph Lauren floral fabric - white with red roses and little blue flowers. I am looking for an old iron head board - in the meantime until I find one I hung up a ribbon with seashells for a temporary head board.
The fabric that inspired the rose painting.
Close up of one of the rose that was "past its prime".

Hi Erin
Another beautiful painting. I love to see your inspiration and then see what you do with it. That is sacry to have a tsunami watch. I'll be prayin for you.
These colors are so vibrant and you have put them together so well. I see Spring! Keep creating...
Erin, this is beautiful! Another painting with your lovely, cheery colors!

Erin, you do such beautiful paintings. I have three rose bushes out front that are this beautiful deep red color. Can't wait for it to warm up so they can bloom again. We are having crazy weather here too for the south, forecasting rain/snow for Tuesday. Cold and windy today, sigh, I am so ready for spring!
Take Care!

This is such a gorgeous painting Erin - so happy to see that handsome Bentley stops to smell the roses, love him!!!!
I bought blowsy white roses last week, fancied them in a tarnished silver pitcher on the dining room table (also my desk!). Now they have dried to what looks like frilly cream vintage fabric - so have added them to my Jardin pot along with all the dried pink roses. If I had your wonderful talent I'd paint them, they are really lovely.
Stay safe out there on the coast - know there has been bad weather and a few scares. We're still chilly here and had a quick dusting of snow last week - then the sun appeared and it was gone in a heartbeat - the kind I like!!
Sending best wishes and hope all is well.
Hugs - Mary
Just beautiful Erin...love your red roses.

What a beautiful picture, I love the added hydrangeas and of course that sweet bird. Have a lovely day.
Painting red roses reminds me of the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.
Hi Erin, I just saw this post and love it! The red roses are beautiful and I can almost smell the scent just like your studio asst. :) I love that you can find something beautiful and then apply it to canvas, what a talent. Oh and I'm also green with envy that you can "grow" hydrangeas! Love the hydrangea painting with the bird...my fav. :)
Love the roses! They always remind me of my mother. She loved her flowers. I too am ready for Spring!
