Cottages and Bungalows Magazine

Welcome.  I am so happy that you stopped by. I am so excited to invite you into my home to have a cup of tea and  share with you a peek into the fabulous August/September "easy seaside style" issue of Cottages and Bungalows annual coastal issue focused on all of the sensory experiences of summer.  I am honored and thrilled beyond words that my beach-cottage style home was shared with their readers in an article "Art Imitates Life".  The beautiful article was written by Meryl Schoenbaum, photographed by Bret Gum, and styled by the very talented Editorial Director/Editor Jickie Torres.  Please note  that all photographs were taken by the talented Bret Gum and styled by Jickie Torres and were published with their permission. I ask that you kindly not use their photos.

Bentley, my studio assistant, is waiting to share a few of the photos with you.

I love primary colors and use white walls and white slip covers to tone down the bright colors in my art and accessories - and throw in primitive wood antiques, baskets, metals and wooden boxes to add texture and interest.

I collect blue and white china and use it throughout my home to add a touch of harmony. I adore and grew up with books and use them throughout to add height to tables and lamps. Everything in this room except the lamps, slip covered furniture and throw pillows was collected over the years at flea markets, garage sales or picked up on side of the road.

The mirror came from Ballard Designs an was sanded to add a little age.

Mirrors are used in the dining room, living room and kitchen to reflect light and bring the outdoors - indoors.
Fresh herbs in the kitchen are used year round for cooking and are always available to snip for tea or food preparation.
Sunflowers are my signature flowers that appear in most of my paintings along with the ever present blue and white china.

The August/September issue has  more photos of my cottage as well as lots of charming homes, cottages, porches and seaside style and can be found in the magazine section of most stores.

The magazine also has several photos of my art studio. Thank you Jickie, Bret and Meryl for the beautiful article.

Thank you for stopping by.  I sincerely appreciate your visits,  comments, e-mails and those following my blog.  I hope to get back to more regularly posting soon.  I was diagnosed with an auto immune issue in June and have been going through IVIG and struggling to get back on my feet.

You inspire so many others with your lovely garden and your creative and artistic gifts. Not having a "creative" gift myself, I so enjoy just visiting your website and immersing myself in your creativity. Thank you for sharing your gifts.
