Bringing the Outdoors - Indoors

Welcome.  I am so happy that you stopped by.  We will have tea inside today as we are having unusually cold weather here in Southern California and are hoping for more rain by the coast.   I like to space out planting bulbs so we will have some Paper whites in bloom into January as it is a nice way to transition from all of the colorful Christmas colors and decor.

It is a little too cold this morning for us to go into the garden so Bentley, My Studio Assistant, is waiting at the door to welcome you inside for a cup of hot tea  and to share with you how we bring the outdoors - indoors this time of year!
The Paper Whites do well inside and add a lovely fragrance.

Winter white Hydrangeas and the addition of a bird house and watering can give the feel of bringing the outdoors - indoors

Delicate plants do well inside to protect them from our recent frosty nights.

Delicate herbs also do well in our sunny kitchen green house window and add some much needed green color during the winter months as well as fresh herbs for cooking.

Thank you for stopping by.  I love hearing from you and sincerely appreciate your visits, e-mails, comments and those who follow my blog.

May you find Joy and Peace in the New Year.

Have a lovely week.  Blessings,  Erin

"For I know the plans I have for you, "declares the Lord", plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  Jeremiah 29: 11

Yes, we sure have been having some chilly evenings and mornings. I have put as many plants under the patio as I can. There has been frost on the roofs and grass early in the am. However, today I have opened up the house for some fresh air.

Your plants look lovely in your home. I guess we will be getting rain this next week, which I can hardly wait.

Enjoy your New Years Weekend and I wish you a wonderful 2016.

Well hello, Bentley. Don't mind if I do stop in for a sip of hot tea. Chilly here on Texas, too!

Hmmmmmmmmm - paper whites. Haven't had any of those in forever. Hope it's not too late to buy some.

Happy New Year!

My Bentley is not liking all the suddenly cold and rainy weather we are having. He's snuggled up on the sofa! Your crisp blues and whites are so calm and serene after all the reds of Christmas. Happy New Year to you and Bentley. Wishing you every happiness in the coming year!!

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

Happy New Year Erin. I love your outdoors in. So bright and pretty. My daughter would love your blue glass, she collects it and I think it looks it is so clean and bright in the sunlight on her windowsill.

Oh, my! Everything is lovely.

The prediction is that El Niño will begin this week. I hope we get the rain.

I love how you stage your photographs. You make even the simplest arrangement look like a work of art that i would happily hang on my wall. You are such an inspiration.

Well I finally am getting around to painting on my little 4x4" canvases as you suggested. The geraniums are blooming in my Studio window so that was my flower of choice. I will post on Facebook and my blog. Hope you see it! I'm wondering on price to put on them? $35.00? Marlynne
