Pansies and "Tea Cup Flowers"

Welcome.  I am so happy that you stopped by.  My garden gate is always open for you to come in and relax with a cup of tea while I share with you the inspirations for my art. Pansies and Violas are very special to me and remind me of the "tea cup flowers" my sister and I planted as children.  Our Mother  taught us how to plant bulbs and Pansies/ Violas in mismatched or chipped  tea cups that she saved for us to use for planting. Every day we could not wait to stand on a stool to watch them grow on the kitchen window sill.  This year I decided to plant Pansies in old chipped tea cups and try painting them.

Let's join Bentley, my Studio Assistant, in the garden to look for Violas and Pansies.

This year I planted Pansies in the old rusty funnels and love they way they turned out.

Chipped tea cups make wonderful containers for plants and remind me of the "tea cup flowers" my sister and I used to plant when we were children.

It makes me happy to see my "tea cup flowers" blooming .

I am in my studio painting Pansies and Violas and will share some of the finished paintings with you next week.

Thank you for stopping by.  I love hearing from you and sincerely appreciate your visits, e-mails, comments and those following my blog.

Have  lovely week.   Blessings, Erin

Everything is beautiful, as always! Where on earth do you live that the weather is always so good? You always have flowers! I'm watching it snow for the 3rd day in a row. It's 21 degrees. I want to move to the area you live in! XO

Oh everything looks so pretty. I planted some foxgloves and Santa Barbara Daisy's today in pots and also some mixed lettuce.
Looking forward to seeing your paintings next week.
I need to get it together and do a post. I pick up a 9 year boy from school every afternoon and help him with his homework, but sure stops me from continuing to get my stuff done. But the money is great so I can't complain.
Just waiting for the rain to come.
Have a wonderful week ahead.

Loved seeing all your colourful pansies. What a lovely rustic idea to use the rusty funnels and they have their own drainage hole. I'm painting pansies again, so I look forward to seeing your painted pansies.

Erin, the tale of your mother saving teacups for your sister and you to plant flowers in is very sweet. And then to see your charming cups with blooms in them. . .well, it just made me smile. Your garden inspires me. I love, love, love the funnels. I must incorporate some funnel plantings in my next garden! God bless you. xo ~ Nancy

Your flowers and garden is so beautiful and inspiring. I am just waiting for the snow to go away. It will probably be awhile. In the meantime, I will dream and plant a beautiful garden in my mind.

Some plants, black-eyed Susan, cone flower, and herbaceous plant as an example, is categorized as drought tolerant, which means that they will get by with to a small degree of wetness from time to time and still manage to grow quite well.
