"Going with the Flow" in 2015!

Welcome.  I am so happy that you stopped by for a cup of tea so I can wish you and your family a Peaceful, Joyful and Happy New Year.  I sincerely appreciate your visits to my blog, your lovely comments and e-mails and those following my blog and want to take this opportunity to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We are not going to venture into the garden today as we are in the midst of an unusual cold spell in Southern California with high winds, trees uprooted, snow and freezing temperatures. It is snowing about 15 miles from my home  the day before New Years and I ended up spending  most of the day bringing delicate plants into the house to protect them from the freeze tonight.

Have a seat in the old blue chair to sip your tea - Bentley. my Studio Assistant, is hanging out in the kitchen by the oven wearing his sweater to stay warm and I am wearing gloves and a wool cap while I am running in and out of the house bringing plants in and covering up the larger trees and plants in pots with plastic instead of meeting friends for lunch to celebrate the end of the year and the beginning of a new adventure.

The kitchen is beginning to look like a green house while  I am sorting plants and finding sunny windows in the house to place them until we are out of danger of a heavy freeze.  The Primroses and Pansies can handle the cold better than some of the more delicate plants and herbs and I plan to paint the Primroses later today before they go into the garden.

The white winter Hydrangeas that were on the front porch are  now safely  in the living room along with the Paperwhites that I just took outside when I took down the Christmas decorations.

The white Geraniums and Succulents are also in the living room!

Plants are everywhere - literally "bringing the outdoors indoors".

Now that the outdoor plants have a warm spot inside I am going to paint a little painting of Primroses for my friends birthday and celebrate her birthday and the New Year with some "art in the garden".

                                                                  "Art in the Garden"

I usually like to pick a word on New Years that represents something I want to accomplish in the new year and after today I think something like " go with the flow" may be appropriate as I begin the new year and enjoy life's unexpected times as much as the planned times.

Wishing you a Beautiful New Year and may you "go with the flow"  as the year unfolds.

Thank you for stopping by.  Next week I will share with you the inspirations for a larger painting on my easel that was waylaid a bit by the arctic blast.

Have a lovely week.  Blessings, Erin

Like your phrase for the new year. I love all the pretty blue in your home - looks so good with all your pretty flowers and plants. I have moved around some of my plants that could be moved.
Your painting are very lovely. Bentley looks very handsome in his pretty sweater.

Beautiful plants and so cherry. Am afraid everything here looks quiet dead and it doesn't stop the deer from visiting for a snack

Oh my, lots of work involved in bringing your plants and flowers inside, but the good news is they look beautiful in your charming cottage. Primrose is one of my favorite flowers. I just love the colors and their big leaves. The paintings you did capture them beautifully. I'm looking forward to more of your "going with the flow", Erin. xxx ~ Nancy

We are not used to this cold weather. Like you, I had to have on a coat and gloves to go outside just for a few minutes.

Steve says the weather report is for a little warmer weather so after our morning walk, I am going to get some garden time in - everything is a disaster from the building of my little garden cottage.

Your home is beautiful with all of the sunlight streaming in. Bentley is adorable in his sweater that matches your décor. I love your paintings of those pretty primroses!
