Painting and Planting Fall Pansies

Welcome.  I am so happy that you stopped by.  My garden gate is always open for you to come in and sit and relax with a cup of tea while I share with you the inspirations for my art.  I just returned from a fabulous 3 day workshop with Dreama Tolle Perry where I painted for the first time with water based oil and learned some new techniques.. Dreama's art is beautiful, colorful and joyful and she is also an inspirational and joyful writer. One of the first things I did when I returned home was to visit the garden shop  to buy some fall pansies to plant so I could start painting them.  So many beautiful colors to choose from!

Let's join Bentley, my Studio Assistant, in the garden to share with you the new Pansies I planted.

This one is in oil on canvas and I found the oils do not photograph well due to the shiny reflections from the paint.  The colors are very washed out in the photo even though in person they are bright.

I then switched to my acrylics on canvas and used the new techniques I learned in Dreama's class  to see how it would photograph. We painted on a slick gesso board in our class and the paintings have a very different look.  Will share one on the gesso board next time.
