One of the first things I did when I returned home was to visit the garden shop to buy some fall pansies to plant so I could start painting them. So many beautiful colors to choose from!
Let's join Bentley, my Studio Assistant, in the garden to share with you the new Pansies I planted.
This one is in oil on canvas and I found the oils do not photograph well due to the shiny reflections from the paint. The colors are very washed out in the photo even though in person they are bright.
I then switched to my acrylics on canvas and used the new techniques I learned in Dreama's class to see how it would photograph. We painted on a slick gesso board in our class and the paintings have a very different look. Will share one on the gesso board next time.
.
Have a joyful week. Blessings, Erin

Your pansies are lovely. I just planted some in the garden, but you make me think I need to get some planted in pots to put throughout the garden also.
I so love pansies and have just planted some over the tulip bulbs in large pots - hopefully they'll have their second burst of blooms come springtime. Love your pansy paintings.
Woof to Bentley - hugs to you dear Erin.
NC is looking colorful - cooler weather on the way though!
