Painting Roses and Hearts

Welcome.  I am so happy that you stopped by.  Today we are going to have tea in my Studio so I can share with you what our Eastside Art Group created in the studio.

Bentley, my Studio Assistant, loves hanging our in the studio and is waiting to show you around.

The Eastside Art Group is made up of 8 very diverse, talented and creative artists whose talents range from metal work, jewelry, journal, paper and collage art, mixed media, graphic arts, gourd art, doll making, print making, sewing and  free motion sewing, painting, digital art, teaching, etc. Some have had their art published in magazines. Each month we meet at a different home/studio and the host artisan teaches an all day class. Our group recently met at my studio and since it was close to Valentine's Day I taught a Rose painting class - we painted Roses on wooden hearts and then moved on to painting Roses on canvas in the afternoon.

My studio quickly went from this  . . . . .......................................................................

To this ..............................in a matter of minutes.

First we practiced painting Roses on heavy watercolor paper and then on the wooden hearts.

Jacki Long -www.facebook.com/jacki.long.75 and Libby Williamson - dragonflyshopsandgardens.com creating.  They both teach lots of fabulous art classes - Jacki can be reached on her Facebook page and Libby can be reached at the Dragonfly Shops and Gardens where she has a delightful studio.

The afternoon class painted Roes in a turquoise Ball jar.

Everyone did a great job painting the Roses and all of the bouquets were a little different.  Time got away from us and unfortunately I did not take photos of all of the canvases. The photo below is mine so you can get an idea of what we painted.

Thank you for stopping by.  I love hearing from you and sincerely appreciate your visits, e-mails, comments and those of you following my blog.  Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to see me paint something special.

Have a lovely week.  Blessings,  Erin

I want to come to one of your workshops, but I can't draw or paint.

I am thinking of doing a workshop for bookmaking in my little creative space. I could have 5 or 6 students.

One day this summer, I would love to come in to meet you for lunch - maybe in Orange.
