Let's join Bentley, My Studio Assistant, in the studio and we will share with you inspirations for a Flower Shop painting. He loves to sit in the studio by my chair waiting to have his morning snack.
I have lots of photos that I have taken of flower markets to use for reference. Note most of the flowers are in white buckets and I want to paint white buckets in my painting.
I will show you how I use smaller white buckets in my studio to get a similar effect to paint. I brought the pot of pink Stock into the studio along with the pot of Spanish Lavender so I would have a few live flowers to paint. I have lots of silk flowers in my studio to use when I do not have the real things.
I sometimes use silk flowers when painting in my studio when the real flowers are not in season - I try and use a few real flowers to make the set up more realistic and used the pink Stock and Lavender. I also placed the silk flowers in white buckets to give the look of a real flower shop.
The finished painting with the flowers in the white buckets.
Thank you for stopping by. Ii love hearing from you and sincerely appreciate your visits, e-mails, comments and those who follow my blog. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to see me paint something special.
Have a lovely week. Blessings, Erin

Hope your knee is ok! At least you can paint while you recover.....love the flower shoppe painting. Take care,Evie
Your flowers are lovely. Isn't it nice to be back to normal with sun and warmth. The first two weeks of January just about did me in with the cold.
Hope your knee is better.
Hi Erin, sorry about your knee injury, stay rested and get well. Enjoy your wonderful weather.

Hello Erin,
Sorry to hear that you started the year badly. I hope it is not too painful and that you have help at home to move and do your things.
Creating art is such a blessing when one has to be confined to an armchair.
I really love the composition of your flower shoppe painting and the colors are so well balanced. It makes me feel like in a bright summer when I watch your art. Great work.
Here in the region of Paris we are experiencing a very bad weather : icy and very snowy. We are confined at home. A good reason to create isn't it ? :o)
Care of yourself and in the meantime, let us share your beautiful works again.
Blessings. Hélène
Such beautiful pix Erin; love the larger size photos. So sorry to hear about your knee. My prayers are with you for quick healing. Love, Kathryn
