Fall Gatherings from My Garden

Welcome.  I am so happy that you stopped by.  My garden gate is always open for you to come in and sit and relax with a cup of tea.   Can you believe that Thanksgiving is next week??? I don't know where the time has gone.  Each year my church hosts a Thanksgiving dinner for around 400 people in need and I volunteer to decorate the tables - I take flowers, pumpkins and Fall decorations from my garden to use.  After the dinner, I take the pumpkins to the food bank to give to families to make pies for Thanksgiving - so my pumpkins get a lot of use.

I am linking up with Pink Saturday for their Gratitude posts.  Please visit other posts at www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com.

Let's join Bentley, My Studio Assistant, and go into the garden to see what I will be taking to  church to use to decorate for the Thanksgiving dinner.

All the pumpkins and scare crows will go.

Fall leaves and Mums will go.  I also take my watering cans to arrange flowers in.

I decorated 16 tables last year and literally took all of the containers from my garden.  I wanted the tables to be  homey and not to fancy and everyone loved the cottage look.

I found this sign last year at Michael's and thought it was perfect to use at our church Thanksgiving dinner.

Last year we fed two homeless dogs and this year a Vet volunteered to give the dogs a free check up. This year we are giving out new blankets, socks, toilet items, food to go and lots of love for one another.

Thank you for stopping by.  I love hearing from you and sincerely appreciate your comments,
e-mails, visits and those who follow my blog.

Wishing you and your family a Happy and Joyful Thanksgiving.

Have a lovely week.  Blessings, Erin.

That is so nice of you to help out those in need at Thanksgiving. I love all the scarecrows, and your decorations are just right for the holiday. Your little dog is so sweet. He can come and visit me any time. Happy Thanksgiving.

Hi Erin! Your garden looks just like my dream garden. Isn't it just a shame when it's time to take the pumpkins away? I'm thinking about putting mine out in the greenbelt behind my house this year. Maybe they will grow. :)

I saw the lead photo of this post in my email the other day - I just love that teapot and cup. I clicked on the link in my email and it took me to "this post not available any more" or something like that. At first, I thought it said your blog wasn't available - but I saw the header. I did check the current link for the current post and it's fine. Who knows what goes right/wrong off/on in the cyber world, or why.
I love the post - and its content makes me think and thankful for what you and your church do. It makes me think about having a church home and helping ... what a blessing. And that you are so thoughtful to provide a cottage setting - that has to be a special blessing to feel like home. Wow. Thank you for sharing this. Take care....Hugs! Jenn
