Painting the last of the Summer Zinnias

Welcome.  I am so happy that you stopped by.  My garden gate is always open for you to come in and sit and relax with a cup of tea in the cool morning breeze while I share with you the inspirations for my art.  The Zinnias are in their final bloom and I wanted to paint them one last time before they fade.
                 Let's join Bentley, my Studio Assistant, in the garden to look for inspiration.










                              Love picking the flowers and arranging them in an old jelly jar!







                         I picked a variety of colors and sizes and put them in a little basket to paint.


This photo is a little blurry as I took it looking through one of the mirrors in the garden.  I planted a large pot of the old fashion tall Zinnias and wanted to show how tall they grew!

    I like zinnias arranged in the basket. Your painting is very pretty!

    It looks like Bentley is smiling about the yellow zinnias.

    I have the old fashioned type of zinias that have big blooms and get pretty tall. Some of the blossoms are at shoulder level. I don't mind them getting tall, as long as they have big blooms. The only problem is if the get pulled down by rain or wind, they don't seem to straighten back up again. I've had to cut some of mine way back because they had become too frowsy looking.

    I always enjoy seeing what you have painted.

    Erin, you are so talented! Zinnias have been my favorites this summer. They have bloomed and bloomed here in our heat and drought. You did a wonderful job capturing their beauty.

    Your zinnias are lovely. They are one of my very favorite summer flowers. I have them by the front fence and out in the vegetable garden, too. I'm so happy that you are taking advantage of them for inspiration for your paints. Absolutely charming and oh so beautiful:)
