Early Summer Garden Tour

Welcome.  I am so happy that you stopped by.  My garden gate is always open for you to come in and sit and relax with a cup of tea for a few minutes while I share my early Summer small space garden with you.

Bentley, my Studio/Garden Assistant, is waiting to show you around.
The vintage metal market basket is located inside the front gate to welcome visitors and is filled with seasonal flowers.

Our small space garden is divided into little rooms filled with vintage finds. The first room is pea gravel lined with a brick sidewalk.

The blue bicycle basket is also filled with season plants/flowers.  Flags and flag pillows come out around Memorial Day and stay throughout the summer months.

The seating area is located across from the front porch. Our neighborhood is located about two miles from the Newport Bay and Pacific Ocean where small lots are a trade off for ocean breezes and located within a bicycle ride to the beach.  Our lot is small and every inch is used to maximize its use - most of the flowers are planted in containers which make it easy to change around seasonal plants .
A vintage sap bucket welcomes visitor to the seating area.

I painted faux flagstones to create a walkway around the garden rooms.  This one leads past the potting bench to the little table where we have lunch or afternoon teas.

"Blossom" the vintage dress form watches over the garden - she is a fashionista and changes her outfits often.

This is my favorite reading nook - located in a corner across from the dining table.

The path leads behind the house to the Sunflower Garden that gets sun all day.

Bentley loves this part of the garden and likes to nap in the sun.

The path leads to the kitchen garden where we grow herbs for cooking and is the perfect place to have tea in the morning.

Thank you for stopping by.  I sincerely appreciate your visits, comments, e-mails and those following my blog.  You can follow me daily on Instagram or Facebook by clicking on the icons on top of my blog post.

  3. Oh Erin, what a beautiful garden you have with so many little rooms. I love everything and all the stunning colors you have in your garden.

I would probably never go into the house, I'd sit around the garden all day.

    Have a wonderful week.

  13. Hi Erin - just had to say how much I've enjoyed the article about you and your beautiful cottage home in the latest issue (Aug./Sept. 2017) of Cottages & Bungalows. Sweet Bentley too of course!
I wasn't familiar with the magazine but won a year's subscription from a blog friend - and I'm loving it.

I was traveling again which prevented me from getting here sooner - a blessing to see all your beautiful art, the garden, and so much glorious color.
    Thank you.

    Hugs - Mary
