Welcome. I am so happy that you stopped by. My garden gate is always open for you to come in and sit and relax with a cup of tea while I share with you the inspirations for my art. We have have had rain, cold and now our beautiful California sunshine - perfect weather for our Winter Pansies to thrive in.
Every year during the first few weeks in January I like to pick a word that describes the coming year. Last year it was BLOOM as I was recovering from an illness that forced me to retire a few years early from my full time job in the corporate world as Vice President of Human Resources .I was adjusting to not working full time as well as looking at ways to start my own business in the art world. It was an exciting year for me and I felt like a flower that was just starting to bud and almost ready to bloom. I redesigned my blog, created lots of original art for the Heart of The Island Gallery and opened an ETSY shop. This year my word is BLOSSOM as I plan to continue to grow and create even more flowers in my world until I am in full BLOOM -just like one of the flowering plants in my garden. I have learned that we never know where our journey in life will take us and if for some reason it takes us on another path the best thing to do is to adjust our compass and welcome the new direction.
Enough of my rambling - let's join Bentley, my Studio Assistant, in the garden to see which Pansey plants are blooming.
I love the little yellow birdhouse -it seems to always end up in my Pansey paintings. The purple Pansies and the yellow bird house are complimentary colors.
My favorite quote for the year:
"There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to BLOSSOM." Anais Nin
The white cloche with bird on top also ends up in lots of my paintings. I like to put a small pot of Pansey flowers under it .
Thank you for stopping by. I love hearing from you and sincerely appreciate your visits, e-mails, comments and those of you who visit my blog. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to see me paint something special.
Have a lovely week. Blessings, Erin
